Out of all the films I tested, I felt Tri-X had the best balance of contrast overall. I disagree that Fomapan 400 is garbage, but it is very different to HP5+. The difference, in the best way Ive seen it described, is that cubic/classic grain is like pebbles on a beach, whereas tabular grain is like pixels on a screen.
